Final score for girls 3A are in: Tides girls will collect the 3rd place trophy for team track and field. We were just trying to get people here and shoot our shot. Kids did a great job all around and honored our culture of preparation and competition and we are SO PROUD!!

Karin Heikkila 4th in 300H! Absolutely great race in 44.66 for 2nd fastest ever at GH. Came a long way this year despite all sorts of obstacles and will be back and hungry in the future!

Senior Taylor Sletner 4th in 3200m, her final event as a Tide. She is one of the finest athletes and people to ever run for this program!

Izzy Harruff lost a runoff for the last spot out of the league meet in 2024 as a frosh. Today she is 7th in state in the 100m and hungry for more. You’ve come a long way kiddo and we are so proud! More to go!

Today’s big start: a tired Lejla Carlsson nevertheless runs down 2 to finish 2nd in the 800m. New school record, breaking the great Michelle Teodoro’s record from 1995. What a run!!

Opened up my feed to see I hadn’t finished pointing out that Karin Heikkila made finals despite a near fall in the 300H. Ranked 5th going in.

Well well well. Boys 4x1 of Morris, Chavez Avelar, Arnold, Olsen came into this meet ranked 17th, not slated for much for than a free dinner on Wednesday night. But competitors COMPETE, and I can proudly announce they are ON TO FINALS! Massive PR for 6th 42.75!!!

Finals of the girls 100H just now. Massive lifetime best for Eisley Hering in 14.89 and equally big lifetime best for Karin Heikkila also up for 6th in 15.09!! Both into a significant headwind. This was a super tight race with many returnees…keep your eyes on these two. 👀

Karin Heikkila with a little q to finals in a lifetime best 15.35!! Came in seeded 10th and had a REAL tough hurdle at #6 but recovered to qualify 7th. These kids COMPETED. On to finals!!!

Eisley Hering starts this meet off RIGHT. Comes into this meet as the number 11 seed. Qualifies in 4th. 15.18 just off Pb into a bit 1.8 headwind!!!
