Comedian Chelsea Handler shaded Nicki Minaj during the 2026 Critics' Choice Awards monologue. On Sunday (Jan. 4), Handler kicked off the annual awards show with a monologue, where she had jokes for several celebrities. While bigging up the 2025 film Sinners, Handler referenced backlash from Nicki's recent heel turn. "Sinners was a massive blockbuster," Handler told the crowd. "Although I haven't been invited to a Black person's house since. Except Nicki Minaj's, but who wants to go over there?" Nicki Minaj has faced resentment from fans after going full MAGA at a Turning Point USA conference hosted by Erika Kirk last month. There are currently multiple petitions on change[dot]org calling for the rapper's deportation to her native country, Trinidad.
