I’m literally a victim of this. Moving to America and getting citizenship doesn’t erase what this country has done to me, my family, or my homeland, and it doesn’t mean I owe blind patriotism while the same systems keep harming the region.

A lot of the problems in the world right now can be explained by this video. For one thing, it’s a big reason why the US government is so unaccountable to public opinion. No it’s because the point of contemporary public art is not to either reproduce that which is real (made obsolete by the camera) or to propagandize the ruler (verboten in a republic) but to provide artists free reign to create non-commercially successful art

I've been saying this for years. The reason public art is so ugly now is it's meant to erode your pride in your community and culture so those in power can reshape it with minimal resistance.
