50% of jobs lost is just a dumb way of saying that productivity doubled. That workers in the future will produce so much stuff that it would take twice as much labor to do it without AI. Rich people can afford 24/7 at home care for their elderly parents. If Elon builds a robot that does this and now every retired household has one, that’s 99% jobs replaced, because equivalent care would take 200 million human workers. We can’t possibly provide this level of care to every household with human workers, even though everyone would want it. The simple reason why AI isn’t going to bring about the job apocalypse is that demand is going to 10x at least. USA median consumption is $70 per day, global is $7 per day. The world can consume 10x more just to equal the median USA lifestyle, not even the wealthy USA lifestyle. If we can make stuff cheaper.

shitpost aside the obvious problem with cryptographic currencies is that, often, we are not using cryptography but humans to secure them in this sense, a lot of defi currently is tradfi without the regulation but much more multiplicative in risk due to composability
