I and 125 others were on the @CTAudubon boat for this last evening — a spectacular few hours.

@charlotte_leib eBird is a good tool for that. I knew pipits didn't nest there but it was easy enough to check the Newark vicinity on eBird. The only pipits recorded there were in the fall. ... I might need to try Blue Sky. I think I created an account but then didn't bother with it.

@charlotte_leib Juvenile American Robin. You might find an American Pipit in the Jersey marshes in fall but they don't nest there so you wouldn't see a juvenile there.

@Revkin @billmckibben @PaceUniversity An inexplicable change. He was always completely convinced he was right (which was great if you were a reporter) but he was never nutty about it. Sad and baffling.

Sad story indeed. My family used to go camping with Bobby and his and others on a Hudson River island. I overlapped with him at @PaceUniversity and he worked well with students. He was always spirited and strident in some environmental views (nuclear). But then (while I was still at the @nytimes) RFKjr started badgering me to cover a book he co-wrote on vaccines. At a @jbfc_ny event I moderated with filmmaker Robert Stone he exhibited jarringly insulting behavior. And then the steep slide to now.....

RFK made a remarkable life journey, from the conspiracy fever swamp of Joe McCarthy to an openhearted embrace of the best in America. RFK Jr. traveled in reverse, from serious environmental lawyer to the conspiracy fever swamp of Don Trump. God what a sad story
