PC optimizations are the biggest waste of money ever. Got on opti, gained zero fps and have ridiculous delay. Never again

@Colinator_ Hmm interesting, guess ive got to do some more digging into how/why it is happening and if there are certain bios versions or motherboards that this doesn't happen on. Thank you sir :)

@TomoTheTechie motherboard is ASUS B650EM MAX GAMING WIFI on the latest bios. loaded optimized defaults and didn't touch anything, left is iommu auto which was default right is iommu disabled. basically the same i'm honestly surprised that my cpu numbers are that high with no expo or pbo

What motherboard do you have? If you could go into the bios, save the current bios profile, then load optimised defaults and check what setting IOMMU is set to, if it is auto then save and exit and run a benchmark for me. Then go back into the bios and set IOMMU to disabled and run the test again. I've been able to replicate my results across 2 different motherboards right now, as well as using a 5070Ti.

@TomoTheTechie i did some more tests and there's so much variance with cpu fps that it might just be margin of error, but here is iommu auto left and disabled right in 2 more tests i just ran

@Orlans21 Has to be relating to it being a 40 series GPU.

I changed one BIOS setting in Call of Duty and gained 38 FPS. Controlled test. n=5. Same game version both conditions. Here's the data. 🧵

@Colinator_ Can you try this again for me but with resize bar disabled on both tests. I briefly ran this test and noticed that the performance difference was still there, but the difference between them was smaller.

Card is running x16 PCIe Gen 5 Bios is running the latest version Few people have mentioned to me that this also applies to other card generations such as the 40 series. My next experiment will be running the same tests and forcing the card into PCie Gen 4 and then measuring the results.

@TomoTheTechie there’s something off here. is your bios updated to the latest version? is your PCIe generation running at gen5? this much of a bandwidth decrease for IOMMU is incredibly strange

@xGibaa With a system like yours it could be multiple things. I'd recommend jumping my Discord, creating a ticket and getting yourself booked in for a remote consultation. Feel free to fire me a DM and we can arrange something from there :)
