Just finishing up Culture Defeats Strategy. Was concerned at the outset that it might be hs football-centric, but there is enough material here with broad appeal to recommend the book. Particularly good in the areas of anecdotal examples and emphasizing grit and competition.

2004 Sporting St. Croix Academy Boys are 2019 Minnesota State Cup Champions! Team outscored their tournament opponents 14-0, but needed a pair of 1-0 wins in the semi and final. This group is special for their willingness to stay the course. Very proud of them.

Received author copies of Soccer Transition Training today. I co-authored this book with @JPSoccerCoach . This volume is a thorough review of all aspects of transition and will be available at stores in the U.S. and on Amazon on March 1st.

@JPSoccerCoach Agree, particularly with regard to player personnel and trying to help guys reach their potential. Two things I find help are reading, which forces new ideas into my head, and observing other coaches, seeing their point of view.

It's interesting how often I get caught up in the day-to-day life of coaching....Always worrying about & focusing on the next session, the next game/opponent & not investing ample time into things that may help me be more efficient & effective in the future. Thoughts? Comments?

Just read Bruce Arena's 'What's Wrong with US?' Title a bit misleading as much of text is an autobiographical thumbnail sketch of his career. Final portion deals with collapse of US 2018 campaign and is interesting critique of US Soccer, MLS, youth and coaching development.

2001 Sporting St. Croix Academy Boys are Midwest Development League champions. The team finished 8-0-1, including 3 wins over state cup champions, and outscored their opponents 37-11. On to San Diego and the ENPL Western Finals!

Sporting St. Croix Academy 2001 Boys improved to 7-0-0 in ENPL play with a 3-2 win over Waukesha and a 4-0 win over Madison this weekend. The boys need one win in their final two matches to qualify for ENPL regionals in San Diego.

Sporting St. Croix Academy 2001 Boys remain atop ENPL/MDL standings (5-0-0) after a pair of wins in St. Louis this weekend, including a 3-1 final vs. SCS United Elite, the Western Pennsylvania State Cup Champions, on Sunday.

St. Croix Academy 2001 Boys swept a pair of matches in Chicago this weekend, downing Chicago Sockers (4-0) and upsetting Campton United (#9 IL; #33 R2) 3-2. Boys sit atop Midwest Development League (ENPL) table at 3-0-0.
