@JamesHeartfield They really seem to believe they can waft their way through life with no consequences at all to actions, where has this arrogance come from?

@ainsley100 @ManaByte They left the buggy behind, Neil, on three lunar missions (Apollos 15, 16, and 17). The buggies, descent modules and other equipment have since been photographed in situ by lunar orbiters from the USA, China, India and Japan.

There is a reason people do not debate Flat Earthers or Moon landing deniers. It is not because the evidence is weak. It is because the conversation is rigged from the start. You can bring measurements, physics, engineering, independent tracking, international verification, and experiments they can do in their own backyard, and none of it matters. The moment the facts show up, they shout fake, edited, CGI, conspiracy, or “that’s just your belief.” You cannot debate someone who treats every piece of evidence as invalid by default. You cannot debate someone who demands proof and then rejects the proof the second it appears. You cannot debate someone who thinks their personal disbelief outranks measurable reality. A debate requires both sides to accept evidence. Flat Earth and Moon landing denial collapse the moment evidence enters the room, so the only move left is to deny the room exists. That is why people do not debate them. Not because the globe is fragile, but because the argument they bring is. You cannot have a real discussion with someone who decided ahead of time that nothing you show them will ever count.

@jimmythetwitt @BDSixsmith It's possible to believe that Brigid Delaney is their in-house comedian, but there are so many crazy headlines you realise that all the Guardian writers must be insane.

@HBrubanter This seems inconsistent, Herb. Why not build a dam across the Strait of Hormuz to teach the Iranians a lesson?

@Andercot In response to the other post saying it’s an arbitrary human number, yes it is, but any other type of equivalent numbers we would have used, or any intelligent race would have used, would have still have those two numbers matched up.

@Polymarket *Unless your dog has allergies to BEEF because they carry the PURINE allergy, most commonly found in HUA Dalmatians or piebald pattern (spotted pink-belly skin) dogs. Please be careful - this could easily cause so many problems.

There’s a common misconception that the UK would be unable to defend the Falklands against an Argentinian invasion. Bollocks! The argument I'm seeing is that the Royal Navy is not, shall we say, in ideal shape, and therefore Britain couldn’t mount a successful defence. However, unlike 1982, it’s highly unlikely that the situation would even escalate to the point of needing a full naval task force. Argentina’s current military capabilities are extremely limited. Their Air Force has just 40 combat aircraft — including 23 ageing A-4 Skyhawks and only 6 F-16s — supported by a mere two KC-130 tankers. Their Navy consists of three small destroyers (around 3,600 tonnes each), two reportedly inactive submarines, and a handful of patrol vessels. These numbers alone make a successful invasion highly unlikely. The Falklands lie roughly 340 miles from the Argentine mainland, and any attempt at a surprise attack would be almost impossible to achieve or conceal. The existing Typhoon detachment on the islands would be reinforced by additional Typhoons, F-35s, and tankers before they'd even left the ground. In short, the idea that Britain could not defend the Falklands is nonsense — because Argentina lacks anything close to the capability needed to invade them in the first place.
