@DorisKluin No, what actually bothers me is your clear contempt for other artists; All human creatives deserve protection and solidarity.

Es stört dich, dass KI legal genutzt werden kann und Menschen dafür Geld erhalten. Okay. Dann geht es dir um Ideologie und nicht um die Zukunft. Wir werden bald keine Sprecher mehr benötigen. Viele werden ihre Stimmen zur Verfügung stelllen und keiner, außer denen, die selbst Sprecher sind, einen Unterschied feststellen.

Folks who are anti-genAI are, in no uncertain terms, not in the minority. We can (and should) all demand better treatment for human creatives.

Despite the welcomed pivot away from AI, I cannot celebrate layoffs. Companies need to transition and re-train employees rather than laying them off en masse. The games industry really needs to find some stability, and soon.

Tatsächlich kann 11labs für den Missbrauch durch User ebensowenig verantwortlich gemacht werden wie Amazon. Das Recht, gegen einzelne Urheberrechtsverletzungen zu klagen hat jeder. Es kostet Geld? Wenn es dir so schlecht geht, dass dich ohnehin niemand nicht, weshalb sollte jemand deine Stimme illegal synthetisieren? Das ist unlogisch. Meist betrifft es die besten Sprecher, nicht irgendwelche. Und die haben auch das Geld für einen Anwalt. Tatsächlich kann man auf 11labs lizenzierte Stimmen auswählen, das ist der sicherste Weg.

@DorisKluin Surely you agree that not everyone can afford litigation, yes? Unfortunately, there are many more voice artists who are unable to litigate. Anecdotes of actors' voices used against their permissions or knowledge can be heard throughout social media for those who will listen.

@theavidhamad Theft is not innovation. OpenAI has already admitted that their model could not exist if they were disallowed to use copyeritten material. This is unrelated to medical/scientific innovation. GenAI is already losing core partnerships, investments, and lawsuits across the globe.

Blanket bans on innovation never succeed. The path forward is smart policy that protects human creatives while embracing technological progress. Balance, not rejection.

@DorisKluin ElevenLabs has a LOT of legal controversy for violating legal contracts. It is NOT ethical and you're only fooling yourself by not researching it more deeply.

Die Leute sprechen ihre Stimme ein und die KI synthetisiert sie. Da ist gar nichts geklaut. Die Sprecher verdienen gutes Geld damit. Alles ist fair, transparent und legal. Das unterstütze ich sehr gerne. Es gibt auch faire Open Source Projekte. Das gierige Menschen aus dem Markt gedrängt werden, tut mir nicht Leid. Es gibt sehr viele Betrüger unter Künstlern. Natürlich Regen die sich über KI auf. Sie können andere Menschen nicht mehr ausbeuten.

Die sogenannten fairen Preise betragen immer noch zweitausend Euro. Für oft sehr schlechte Sprecher. Ich höre im Schreibprozess mit dem 11labs reader meine Manuskripte ab. Funktioniert hervorragend. Zu sagen, dann mach es nicht, ist Gatekeeping. Nochmal. Ich unterstütze Sprecher. Es gibt inzwischen viele professionelle Hörbuch-Sprecher, die ihre Stimmen zur Verfügung stellen. Dafür bezahle ich gerne die doppelten Credits. Nur eben keine tausende von Euro. Die Arbeit, wie was zu betonen ist, muss ich übernehmen. Ich muss trotzdem schneiden und mastern. Sätze mehrfach vertonen. Ich habe bereits Erfahrungen mit meinen Shorts gesammelt. Zu Beginn vor zwei Jahren waren die Ergebnisse noch furchtbar. Inzwischen kann man die Stimmen von Tonstudioaufnahmen kaum mehr unterscheiden. KI zwingt, sich Skills anzueignen, um die man sich selbst sonst nicht gekümmert hätte. Es wird nie langweilig. 😅

There are tens of thousands of audio book narrators on Twitter, TikTok, and third-party audition websites who would offer to narrate your books for reasonable prices. Many talented voice actors would jump at the opportunity, quite frankly. Honestly, you could also learn how to narrate your own books yourself. No one will ever understand the source material quite like the original author. There are options that don't diminish human creativity. If I see an original work of literature using an AI-generated book cover, for example, I will never respect that author—what else did they use gen-AI for and perhaps *not* admit to? Immediate and permanent distrust in my mind. I think of it this way: if a successful business cannot afford to pay its employees a livable wage because the business would fail, that business was never actually successful in the first place. Maybe you should not offer audiobook versions of your books, if you can find no other solution. But I think there are always solutions which also honor human creatives. ♥️

Ich hätte Lust meine Bücher von einem Menschen einsprechen zu lassen. Aber was die an Geld haben wollen, ist unverschämt. Ich habe damals angefragt. Ein Buch kostet achttausend Euro plus Tonstudio. Die Sprecher wissen ganz genau, dass Autoren das Geld nie wieder einspielen und nutzen sie gnadenlos mit ihren utopischen Preisen aus. So gehen Künstler mit Künstlern um. Ich unterstütze trotzdem menschliche Sprecher. Sie erhalten Geld dafür, dass ich ihre synthetisierten Stimmen auf 11labs für meine Shorts nutze.
