Somalis are not Arabs, and never have been. They are Cushitic, African, indigenous to the Horn of Africa, with a history that predates the Arab world by thousands of years. While Arabia was still tribal and largely unknown to history, Somalis were already trading with the Pharaohs as the legendary "people of Punt."
