If you are looking for a book that will warm you up, this one may well make your blood boil. @lokiscottishrap has hit every nail squarely on the head. An absolute must for anyone who feels there is an intentional status quo of inequality in Britain.

I’ve had a front row seat to witness Kamala Harris be a champion for vulnerable children and families. She helped us start the Center for Youth Wellness and created the Bureau of Children’s Justice as CA Attorney General. I deeply believe she is the leader we need right now.

My first speech as a Member of Parliament. I talked about the need to reform our children’s social care system, the wonderful people of Whitehaven & Workington and the need grow our economy through boosting clean power, especially new nuclear.

@JohnSwinney looking after the most vulnerable in society is not only the right thing to do, but it's economically essential. You talk so much sense. Good luck.

@GillianKeegan If only there was an NHS dental service for children. The biggest reason for children's hospital admissions is tooth decay. You are sounding more desperate by the day #ConservativeParty

There you have it. Labour's first substantial education policy. Teachers being forced to brush children's teeth. You couldn't make it up. Labour are unfit to run our education system. 🧵 1/3

Relationships are the key to overcoming #trauma. For many children the relationship they form with #teachers can in some case be literally life-saving. When. Teachers & #pastoral staff are leaving schools in droves and not being replaced, it's the children with #ACES who miss out

@Conservatives Let me get this right. You're planning on releasing rapists early from prison and replacing them with litter louts. Am I missing something here? Or are you missing something?

A great end to the week. Another young care leaver secured a role in the NHS. I have worked with this young person since she was 16 years old. At the time, she was living independently on her own in a house with no support whatsoever. It was ready to fall down. We put a stop to that and moved her to a more secure home with good staff. She worked incredibly hard over the years, and now it's paid off. A flat, and now a career in the NHS. #changeiscoming

Children in care are a comodity for fat cat companies. Haven't they suffered enough? Where is the compassion? The sad irony is, that as a result, less money is spent on the interventions which will prevent other children going into care. #aces #trauma theguardian.com/society/2024/m…

Working with Art helps children with #ACES to open up about their world. This piece was by an 8 year old, now settled in a new home.

Loving the Diary of a CEO Podcast by @StevenBartlett A few years behind, and only on episode 14 but such a thought provoking listen. Today's thought - I should be more afraid of living, and not making the difference I want to, than of dying.

@drjohnjmarshall That's a really interesting angle, I wonder if the basic survival instinct kicks in and prevents disaster in the moment, but later in life when things are 'safer' the trauma kicks back.

Why do young people drop out from counselling? Our new open access study, led by Emily Pattison, is a series of case studies to try and understand in more depth why dropout happens - and how it can be minimised (spoiler: it's the relationship that counts!) onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ca…
