The NSA monitors everything and everyone. We've known this for decades. Kicker is, there's not much they can actually do to the average citizen with the information they collect. To present that in court, they'd have to admit how they acquired it. So for the most part the NSA just sits on this info and doesn't do jack all. That's why there are ironically so many pedos and murderers who operate online so freely. NSA can't to jack all with that info on a legal basis. What the NSA can do however, is monitor for things like spies and foreign operations under section 702. Typically this is for helping the fbi catch foreign cells on U.S soil. However if a U.S citizen gets caught in this net, they're legally required to inform that citizen that they were under surveillance. For the most part this has been used for Terrorist or national security related crimes TLDR we all know the NSA monitors everything we do, but unless you're a foreign agent or a dipshit terrorist openly writing your manifesto on kiwi forums, The NSA doesn't care about you.
