People are cold. They really are, and the sooner you accept that, the better you will treat yourself. Most people are not thinking about you. The warmth you remember from them was mostly situational, it lasted as long as you were useful, available, or entertaining. People leave without explanation. People watch you struggle and say nothing. Stop being shocked by it. Not everyone deserves your openness, your energy, or your time. The cold world does not reward the naive. It rewards those who see it clearly and move accordingly.
