In this video, CEO Nick Smart explains why ValOre’s latest metallurgical milestones are a critical step forward for developing the Pedra Branca PGE Project. While the results confirm high extraction rates seen in previous testing, the primary significance lies in the rapid kinetics, consistency, and reproducibility of these outcomes. ValOre’s testwork has focused on novel bioleaching and caustic pre-treatments followed by cyanidation. Bioleaching achieved extractions of 72.88% platinum and 74.07% palladium from weathered material over a 22-day leaching period - consistent with previous results obtained over a 60-day leaching period. This significantly shorter cycle establishes bioleaching as a promising pathway for PGE recovery. Concurrently, caustic cracking pre-treatments followed by cyanidation on chromitite material achieved extractions of 66.42% platinum and 78.81% palladium. This highlights a potentially effective and targeted processing route for high-grade chromitite mineralization. These results provide important technical validation and demonstrate the potential for lower processing costs and a reduced environmental footprint, a key step as ValOre advances toward a Preliminary Economic Assessment.
