This was hard to make, and long overdue. Milton's surgery was a success, but we lost him in recovery. VRC members were updated with his every step, but we didn't have the heart for a public post. Remembering he's gone still hurts.

Tomorrow morning, Milton is scheduled for surgery. It’s a complex and high-risk procedure, but the mass hasn’t responded to anti-inflammatories, antibiotics, or steroid injections. Surgery is our last option—our chance for more time.

Recognize this boy? You might have seen him in a post from a lost-and-found pet group last year. It was late September, around 4 a.m. in Surrey, when a kind man waiting for the bus noticed a little white rat sniffing at his shoe.

Our shop is anticipated to reopen in Spring of 2024. Happy New Year! 🐀❣️🎆

Our goals this coming year are to continue working with and offering support to rescues & the public. We'd also love to attend more events in the new year! Thank you again for all of the support & to those who stopped by our table to chat & kiss a rat in October. 💕
