Something that messes me up in the book is how Commander Yao was adamant that anyone who joined the Hail Mary crew had to give their CONSENT. Stratt lied to him and Ilyukhina and said that not only did Grace consent, he had also asked to be put in a coma early so he didn't panic.

finally finished the PHM book only to find out Rocky speaks perfectly eloquent at the end when Grace is on Erid because they're both fluent now in each other's languages. but for stylistic purposes I will continue to write Rocky's erratic speech patterns because it brings me JOY
