@lexicon91 In the Dune universe, Paul becomes a new emperor and a tyrant. So the "rebel"/"messiah" of the story becomes like whoever they fought to dethrone. The message is clear. And it's clearly not pro-colonialism. Quite the contrary. Hopefully that will become clear in the film as well.

dune was hands down one of the worst films i’ve seen in recent memory, a sick, unfiltered colonial fantasy, and a vaguely middle eastern, noble savage, magical negro, white savior, messiah complex smut film. how i wish i had done my research before watching.
