you don't have a research framework.
you have a gambling habit.
here's how to actually research a new token:
1st : tokenomics
tokenomics = the supply and distribution structure of a token.
• check total supply, circulating supply, and unlock schedule
• who holds the most? team, VCs, foundation?
• if insiders hold 40%+ and unlocks are close, that's a red flag
2nd team background
the team = the people building and running the protocol.
• doxxed or anon?
~ doxxed = the team's real identities are public (name, face, linkedin, etc.)
~ anon = the team operates under pseudonyms with no real identity revealed.
• anon is fine, but do they have a track record?
• any prev rugs or failures? that matters more than linkedin profiles
3rd protocol utility
utility = what problem the protocol actually solves and who pays for it.
• can you explain it in 2 sentences? if not, dig deeper
• is there real demand, or is it just "we're building X but onchain"
4th onchain data
onchain data = real activity recorded on the blockchain, not marketing numbers.
• check dune for active users, TVL trend, transaction volume
• growing = good. declining with hype = red flag
Lastly - narrative fit
narrative = the market theme this token is attached to.
• what cycle is this token riding?
• is the narrative early, mid, or already played out?
that's it. 30 mins max once you build the habit.
most people skip straight to step 5 and wonder why they stay losing.
