Today’s Turkish University Entrance Exam had a philosophy question that referenced Re:Zero: A library contains books about everyone who has ever existed, and a guy reads his own book to remember his past. It’s a question about determinism. I’ll share the question when it drops.

In more honest times, Faik Ökte admitted that the Varlık Vergisi was explicitly discriminatory. That tax also had an obvious "racist" element, in that it discriminated between ethnic Armenians and ethnic Greeks. Armenians were taxed at 232% versus "just" 156% for Greeks.
