Working Fire - Just after 0200 the box alarm was struck for a reported house fire in the 4700 Blk of 68th Ave sending Engine 281 as second due and Truck 28 as the first special.

Engine company 48 in route to a box assignment, 2400 Blk of Brightsest Road.

It is with great sadness we inform you that Honorary West Lanham Hills Chief John Hoglund has passed. A long time resident of New Carrollton, Chief John W. Hoglund was the past Director of Maryland Fire Rescue Institute and Chaplain Emeritus of the Maryland Fire Chiefs Assoc.

Company 28 was alerted to an accident on Route 50 WB at Pennsy Dr. E282 arrived on-scene to find one trapped. The crew quickly extricated the patient from the vehicle and was transported to local hospital. #moveoverforemergencyvehicles

30 Box - Engine 282 was dispatched 2nd due to the 4400 block of 68th place for the apartment on fire. First arriving units had a working fire on the 3rd floor. The fire was quickly extinguished and all searches of the structure were negative. #greenhosenation

It is with saddening hearts that we inform you of yet another life member passing away. Tommy “Buddha” Burke has passed away very peacefully today. Buddha joined our department in 1963 and was a huge part of our department over his years.

Life Member Duane Allen, Vietnam Veteran and Purple Heart recipient was laid to rest with honors by the West Lanham Hills Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad on Sunday.
