Can you name the only horse to defeat both Sierra Leone and Nysos, separately, in Grade 1 races??? Can you name the only older horse to win two Grade 1 races this year??? Mindframe. I fully understand that because I’m outspoken and often disruptive, I’m not for everyone. That’s fine. But facts are facts. Mindframe, with three graded stakes wins, including two Grade 1 victories, should have been an Eclipse Award finalist for Older Horse. If you weren’t voting for Forever Young, the only other vote was Mindframe. That shouldn’t be controversial. It should be f$&kin obvious. It’s hard to understand how both Sierra Leone and Nysos received nominations ahead of him, given the actual results on the racetrack. More than anything, I feel for the people who deserved and earned better: - My hardworking Repole Stable team - The late Larry Johnson, Mindframe’s breeder, and especially his family and daughters - Everyone connected to Maryland-bred racing - Todd Pletcher and his entire staff - Irad Ortiz Jr. Mindframe was undefeated this year prior to the Jockey Gold Cup, a race in which he and Irad were inches away from serious injury. He was never quite the same after that. Sometimes racing forgets what it really should reward… WINNING. Thank you, Mindframe. ♥️🙏
