Why am I boolish on @playwildforest 🌲 This is going to be a LONG post because I always have issues with thread formatting... so enjoy this LONG SINGULAR POST. 😙 They are my personal opinions touching on certain aspects that are overlooked by others. It's those little things that edges one game over the other ya know~ 🧐 /backstory - I joined @AxieInfinity last cycle, ran a guild that had 800 scholars at peak - P2E/PNE/P2A they are the same to me - since then, I've researched SEVERAL projects looking for something that can reach that level of mass adoption again Now: We have @playwildforest There are tons of amazing games right now, the Web3 space is more competitive than ever. AAA Gaming studios are already here building for years. So why Wild Forest? 🌲 (a) @Ronin_Network The network effect of RONIN is real. I've reconnected and met so many old & new fwens here. The crowd here is real and massive. And they are GAMERS first before anything else. Say what you will. DAU/DAW. So what's your DAU/DAW? 🧐 (b) Amazing learning curve / ease of onboarding / accessibility Like I mentioned, there are a ton of great games. However the greatest obstacle facing mass adoption after platform choices would be the "Pick up and Play" factor. If you ever ran a guild or onboarded players for Axie before then you will know that Axie isn't a simple game. A lot of time is spent on training/onboarding new players. Here I could pass a phone to any player now and they can pick up all the core mechanics of Wild Forest in 5 minutes or less. TBH, Wild Forest is much easier to learn compared to Axie Classic and others. (c) The Economy Loop and game mechanics design are TOP-NOTCH Zillion Whales are the masters of Mobile RTS (Real Time Strategy) games. They have 12 years experience honing every single aspect of this Genre. They also did Mushroom Wars which originally launched on PSN in 2009, which is way earlier than COC / Clash Royale. (Referencing these 2 mammoths as WF is seen as a COC/Clash hybrid) That's also what made me noticed them. Because I used to play a ton of Mushroom Wars chasing the high score leaderboards. (ima noob still) 🥲 I read their whitepaper and noticed how brilliantly thought-out the economic loop is designed. Seamlessly integrating web2 and web3 elements together. Vertical progression is well planned and I don't have worries that unit supply will be too inflationary. For context, you need to combine 48 Common Units to form 1 Legendary Unit. A Unit also gains a PERK randomly from a set pool of Base and Class-exclusive perks wen you reach Legendary. With a deck consisting of 7 units, there's endless deck archetype possibilities to build. Trying to craft/evolve that perfect 7 unit deck with the perks you want is going to be a fun grind. 26 classes are available at Global Launch along with the PERKS system. The competitive meta is going to be exciting, fluid and constantly changing.
