Good Morning Britain
One in ten babies regularly fall asleep in front of a screen - that's according to a new study examining the impact devices have on the under 2s. It also found growing evidence of links to language delays and behavioural difficulties. While the government issued fresh guidance last month stating infants should avoid screen use, experts say modern life can make that challenging. @WiTullis reports.

Israel carried out a “triple attack” on health workers in southern Lebanon, killing at least three paramedics. One of them is Fadel Serhan. We spent days with him and his team earlier this month as they described how they worked in fear of being attacked. Today, they were.
Hugo Bachega@hugobachega

Lebanon’s health ministry has accused Israel of deliberately targeting health workers across the country. We spent days with paramedics in Nabatieh, which is being hammered by the Israeli military. They live away from their families, and work in constant fear of being attacked.

UN experts call for investigation into Israel’s killing of journalists in Lebanon. “[It’s] a standard… practice of Israel to target and kill journalists and then claim, without providing any credible evidence, that they were involved with armed groups”. ohchr.org/en/press-relea…

Seems like Mr Levy is advocating the killing of any journalists reporting on parts of this war he doesn’t want covered? @OliverGMarsden reminds him of another targeted attack on journalists in Lebanon, which killed @Reuters journo Issam Abdullah and badly wounded others including @AFP journo Christina Assi
Oliver Marsden@OliverGMarsden

@EylonALevy Why don’t you say that to the Lebanese families of @Reuters journalist Issam Abdallah and @AFP journalist Christina Assi

Lebanese minister of health holds up a pic of a damaged ambulance and asks: ‘Is this a military facility? Can you see any rockets here? Is this a rocket or an ambulance?’ He’s describing the Israeli attacks as against every int rule of war

While covering the latest Israeli settler attack in the West Bank, Israeli soldiers assaulted my photojournalist @cyrilthps and detained my team. But our 2-hour detention revealed a lot about the motives of these Israeli soldiers: acting in service of the settler movement. W/ @AbeerSalmanCNN

There have been many defining moments in the course of the Russia–Ukraine war. But I believe the true spark that ignited Ukraine’s heroic resistance was Zelenskyy’s decision not to flee Kyiv - to “ask for ammunition, not a ride,” to remain in the capital, and to speak directly to Ukrainians through daily video addresses that gave the nation hope. Had he fled, the trajectory of the war would have been fundamentally different.

Gabriel Pogrund
Gabriel Pogrund@Gabriel_Pogrund·
The group that helped to get Sir Keir Starmer elected as Labour leader hired lobbyists to investigate the personal, political and religious background of a Sunday Times journalist behind an article about secret donations that funded its work. Labour Together paid £36,000 to Apco, a US public affairs firm, to examine the “backgrounds and motivations” of reporters behind a story before the general election. The aim was to discredit The Sunday Times’s reporting by falsely suggesting its journalists might be part of a Russian conspiracy or had relied on emails hacked by the Kremlin. Apco produced a 58-page report including almost ten pages of deeply personal and false claims about Gabriel Pogrund, the Sunday Times Whitehall editor. He and Harry Yorke, the newspaper’s deputy political editor, were named as “persons of significant interest”.

I’ll freely admit I’m biased. Gabriel helped me with my first two books before his career went into the stratosphere. I laughably think of him as a protege even though he long since eclipsed my achievements. In my view he’s the best reporter on Fleet Street. He’s also a lovely and gentle man. But I’ll tell you what his politics and ideology are for free - they’re that lying, corrupt, cheating, toe rags in politics, business or the royal family deserve exposure. And no one does it better than him
Matt Chorley@MattChorley

Not only is @Gabriel_Pogrund on of the best, fairest and most fearless journalists I know, he is also one of the best people. Everyone involved in trying to smear him, including this “source” using his faith to undermine his journalism, should be ashamed thetimes.com/article/e5efcc…

I was in Washington DC when Peter Mandelson was appointed as ambassador. There was serious dismay in the British embassy about it - not specifically because of his Epstein links, but because everyone knew he was trouble and it always ends in tears with him. Plus, Karen Pierce was a brilliant ambassador who had a great relationship with Trump’s team, and wanted to extend. It was just awful judgement by Keir Starmer and his No10 from the very get go.

Juan Orlando Hernández - ex-president of Honduras - was convicted of smuggling 400 tons of cocaine into the US, paving what prosecutors called "a cocaine superhighway" into the country. He was serving 45 years in a US prison for multiple offences including possessing machine guns and accepting a bribe from El Chapo. So why did Donald Trump pardon him? All while the US President justifies military pressure on Venezuela by accusing Nicolás Maduro of cocaine  smuggling. Discussing this + Trump's strategy in Latin America with @GeraintITV on the @itvnews What You Need To Know podcast - available on YouTube, Spotify and Apple.
