@keerthikau Doesnt he have to play 4? Hes only played 61 so far so wouldnt he need 4 more to get to 65? Unless they are counting the NBA Cup finals?

After tonight, Wembanyama needs to play at least 3 of the Spurs' final 5 games to maintain eligibility for end-of-season awards.

Would normally agree based on the assumption alone, but I ran the numbers of Wemby's 4th quarters in games where he plays >36 mins. Pretty surprising - on average his performance to close out those last 9-12 minutes pretty much matches her PER36 for the rest of the season with far better ASST numbers. Small sample, but from this you could argue his game remains fairly consistent from start to finish.

Completely agree with the decision the sit Wemby
1) Only needs to play 3 of the remaining 5 games after this to be eligible for awards
2) Last back-to-back of the season
3) Good chance Spurs see Clippers in 1st rd, don't give them another chance to experiment schemes for Vic

@HanaHoops I feel people mistake the designation "lottery player" for "#1 overall because player X goes to the team that won the lottery" .... Not the case

@asaadkamal @espn And now normalize for the fact that Wemby had these numbers only playing 1784 minutes and Luka played 2144 minutes at this same point. 30.5 PPG - 14.1 RPG - 3.8 APG - 1.3 STL - 3.8 BLK That chart starts to look a little different 😉

I believe I'm the most impactful player defensively in the league. Second argument would be that we almost swept OKC in the season, and we dominated them three times with their real team. My third argument would be that offense impact is not just points"
