Year10 W7 students really enjoyed a trip to the Thriving Minds event in Oxford where they explored interdisciplinary knowledge through a range of talks on the philosophy of Plato, the science of music, the value of courage, slow thinking - followed by a debate on love & fear.

Mr. Staley's 7AM2 science class presented their slides on an energy source today! They all did a fantastic job.

Well done to the Year 10 boys who represented the school at the Partnership Rugby Tournament on Tuesday evening - ending up overall winners.

Another successful morning at Bexhill college where our Year 10/11 students took part in A-Level French+Spanish tasters. Students had an opportunity to not only practice their French+Spanish but also discuss college life+courses.

Our Year 10 students had a fantastic day at Paxton Access in Brighton with the Dare to Dream programme! They created a mock promotional video and were praised for their confidence and excellent behaviour. Thanks to Paxton Access, LoveLocalJobs & the Dare to Dream team.

We were very lucky to welcome Charlie Mercer to Willingdon to talk to Y9 students who have opted for Business Studies at GCSE. Charlie is from Eastbourne himself, and now the Policy Director at Startup Coalition, the lobby group for UK start-ups and scale-ups.

Another amazing achievement for Harry D who swam in the 2nd of the 2 events he qualified in at the weekend at the Sussex County champs, the 50m freestyle this time, very tough competition & no final this time unfortunately, but he placed 10th overall & got yet another PB!

Last week, the maths team spoke with students about their previous career paths and highlighted the many ways maths is used across different industries. A great opportunity for students to see the subject in action.

We were delighted to welcome Enterprise Adviser Sian Hepworth (E.ON) to school this week. She spoke to Year 10 about careers, ran the Willingdon Renewables exercise, and inspired students across Years 7–10. Thank you!
