The ability to tell stories is the most important skill in 2026 For context: - Mentions of “storytelling” on earnings calls was up 125% this year. - LinkedIn Job postings up 200% When technology is no longer the moat, the only true competitive advantage is making the consumer feel something. It's quite simple, the biggest determining factors to win in business used to be capital, engineers, and size. Now with those costs being effectively competed away, the biggest competitive advantage is distribution and attention. Humans have deep biological tendencies. We have sub consciousness biases that can be manipulated and tapped into. Storytelling isn't just the words that go out on social media. It's every single scroll of the website, every interaction with the product, and anytime the user interfaces with the perception of your company. For decades storytelling was looked at as something that could be outsourced to a few social media hires. Now I can guarantee you storytelling will be looked at like a science, with billions of dollars pouring in to find the best ways to appeal to the consumer
