Have you ever noticed that female characters are extremely easy to get nitpicked?
When ppl's understanding of western armor is rooted mostly in games or anime, it’s easy to makes you think maille or gambesons are useless, while they actually ruled the battlefield over 1,000 years. Furthermore, many criticisms of women's armor are very polarized either target sexualization or desexualization.
Some ppl might think armor should always prioritize utility, but if you delve into historical sources or even travel to Europe. You’ll find that reality is far more fascinating than you imagined, filled with aesthetic and romantic choices.
So... I've been drawing armored women for four years now. While these types of critiques still appears everyday on other armor girl artists, they have almost vanished from my feed. Can't lie I sometimes miss the old days. 🤭

@Rookie_425 And I forgot that, because of its shape, it would deflect the cuts and thrusts towards the openings in the armor itself
