为什么有些zutara很爱让katara去融入zuko的文化，很难看诶！

I did a full count on how many times both Avatars used their bending while I was rewatching Avatar, here's the result. What do you think 🤔

Prime Katara especially after training under Pakku and mastering bloodbending from Hama was one of the most terrifying waterbenders in the franchise. Yet by the time we see her in The Legend of Korra, Nickelodeon and the writers had largely reduced her role to that of a healer. People forget that an elderly Katara was still powerful enough to command respect. If she'd been written with the same focus as her ATLA self, there's a strong argument that old Katara could've run through a good chunk of the TLOK cast on skill alone.

Kya being a lesbian means the Southern Water Tribe might not get any more waterbenders directly from her bloodline. Looking at Katara in her old age, you can't help but wonder if part of that sadness comes from seeing an era slowly fade away. 😭💔🌊
