This week in year 3, we have been preparing to write an information text all about our chosen dinosaur. We have been researching interesting dinosaurs, such as the T-Rex and the Velociraptor, to make sure we can include lots of detail in our writing! @High_Hazels_Ac

We took inspiration from Autumn leaves this week in Art Club using chalk to create these beautiful pictures. Didn't they turn out well?! @High_Hazels_Ac

We are acting out the story in Reading to better understand the vocabulary. These are our impressions of an ancient dinosaur, graceful bird, towering tree, floating cloud and pouncing cheetah. @High_Hazels_Ac

We have started out final piece in Art today and we are practicing shading. Our artwork is inspired by the work of Edith Holden. They look great already! @High_Hazels_Ac

We made Diwali lanterns in class this week for our R.E lesson and had lots of fun in the process! This will help us to understand different cultures and show respect. @High_Hazels_Ac

We went on a trip to @MatlockFarmPark and did all sorts of amazing activities. We saw sheep, meerkats, goats and much more. We even got the chance to feed and handle the animals too. This day will help us so much with our Geography and Science learning this term. @High_Hazels_Ac

Y3 have been transitioning into Y4 pupils this week. After learning about the Amazon Rainforest and the Toucan bird, they produced some amazing art using oil pastels to illustrate the beauty of the fascinating creature. Check out their creations! @High_Hazels_Ac

Year 3 Zircon thoroughly enjoyed their trip to The Circle Art Gallery today, where they saw amazing pieces of art from our school and schools all over Sheffield. We are so proud of our pupils showcased art! 🎨 @High_Hazels_Ac

This week in Maths, Year 3 have been learning to tell the time. We used clocks to move the minute and hour hands to show o'clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to! @High_Hazels_Ac

This week, pupils have been learning all about fractions of amounts in Maths. In this lesson, Year 3 pupils took part in a Rally Coach where they worked in pairs to coach each other and calculate fractions of amounts! @High_Hazels_Ac #kagan #rallycoach

Year 3 have been loving their Moving Monsters unit in DT! We learned all about pneumatic systems and how they work, designed our own moving monsters, and then created our monsters based on our design criteria. Check them out! @High_Hazels_Ac

Today in Writing, Year 3 have been learning all about Fables. We read the story of 'The Wolf in Sheep's Clothing' and retold it using talk for writing. We enjoyed creating actions for the sinister, cunning wolf! @High_Hazels_Ac

In Science club, we made ‘Magic Milk’ by using food coloring and dish soap. We watched as the food coloring dispersed to make wonderful patterns. Also, we did some tinkering using paper, scissors and glue to create our very own ‘Paper Cities’. It was so much fun! @High_Hazels_Ac

We have been loving Sewing Club in Year 3, and this half term it has been all about making finger puppets! Children cut out their designs on felt, used a running stitch to connect them, and used an applique technique to set their final touches. Take a look! @High_Hazels_Ac

Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed British Science Week! We practiced making gliders, investigating objects that sink and float and growing our own rainbows. It was a day filled with excitement and wonder! @High_Hazels_Ac

In Writing, Year 3 have been learning about news reports. We considered formal tone, detail for the reader and quotations to bring dimension into our writing. Our theme was fairy-tale crimes - take a look at our work! @High_Hazels_Ac
