Making $100,000 yearly is still a great income for most people. Don’t let people on the internet convince you otherwise.

@Sayzryn DIVO is one of the cleaner covered call ETFs out there. Unlike QYLD it doesn't sell calls on the full index, it selects quality stocks and uses calls selectively. That's why the NAV has held up much better long term. For 10+ years it's a legitimate income compounder.

@stockpickz_hq The hardest part isn't finding great companies. It's holding a -94% position when every headline says you're an idiot for not selling. Conviction is easy to claim. Almost nobody actually has it.

$AMZN lost 94% of its value between 2000 and 2001. The people who held became millionaires. The people who sold learned an expensive lesson about confusing price with value.

@IndexAndForget That's a great way to frame it. Short expenses, long income. Never seen it put that way before but it's exactly right.

@Yieldos_app True cutting expenses is like shorting your downside is only 100% but income is like longing your upside is unlimited 😁

@DvdndDiplomats Clean list. VYM + VIG together is essentially the full dividend spectrum… high yield on one end, dividend growth on the other. VOO ties it all together. Solid Monday.

Millionaires are way more common than the internet pretends. A couple with decent careers, a paid off house, and 25 years of investing crosses the $1M line all the time. Being blind to it doesn’t mean it’s not happening.

@compressmyneck @darrenv96 Ha, fair point. The habits that caused the -98% and the habits that rebuild from it are rarely the same ones. That's actually the whole lesson.

My portfolio went from $350K at 27 to $7K at 32. Anyone else ever have to start over after being nearly wiped out? Glad I didn’t give up

@WealthCoachMak Fair enough, if that's the thesis, own it. Concentrated bets on a single theme can massively outperform. They can also all go down together when the theme rotates. Just make sure the position sizing reflects the risk, not the conviction.

@antibearthesis Can't argue with $MA…outperformed $V on total return for most of the last decade. Both sit in my dividend tracker though. Two of the most consistent dividend growers on the planet.
