My name is Nizar, a young lawyer and a Master’s student in law from northern Gaza.
Because of the war, I lost my home, my office, and my source of income. I have become responsible not only for my family, but also for 4 other families from my relatives who have lost their husbands and sons. Since the beginning of the war, I have been doing everything I can to support them, while also helping displaced people through humanitarian initiatives.
Last month, we carried out 7 initiatives, and this month 2 more. We were able to distribute 175 cans of infant formula across 4 shelters and 6 camps, and we are still trying to continue despite all circumstances.
But today… I am the one asking for help.
We urgently need:
Medicine and diapers for my sister Zein, who has cerebral palsy
Milk and diapers for the children:
Eid (my baby brother – 7 months old)
Hamza (my sister Halima’s son – 2 months old)
Malik (my sister Diana’s son – 4 months old)
Ismail (my brother Shihab’s son)
We are also at risk of being forced to leave our shelter soon, as it will be rehabilitated and used again for education—which is their right—but it means we will be left without a home. Therefore, we urgently need to rent a piece of land to set up tents.

This Eid was not like any other Eid. We did not buy clothes for ourselves, we did not visit anyone, and there was no home for us to gather in like we used to every year. But despite everything, thanks to God and then thanks to you, we were able to create small moments of joy in the middle of all this pain. The story began when we were able to carry out our first initiative by distributing dates, then the Eid cookies initiative, followed by distributing financial assistance to families, then shoes for children who were walking barefoot in the camp, then food baskets for families, and finally Eid chocolates for the children. Six initiatives, and each initiative felt like a small Eid on its own. If you could have seen the joy of the children receiving shoes, the happiness of the families receiving food baskets, and their smiles as they received Eid cookies and chocolates, you would have known that what you gave was not just aid — it was real joy, dignity, and hope. You did not just donate money, you created happiness, you brought comfort to tired hearts, and you made people feel that someone is standing with them, that they are not alone. We hope you will continue supporting us, because with you, after God, we can continue, help more families, and create new joy on the faces of children who no longer have much of childhood left. The martyred child Salma, only 5 years old: I used to see her every day selling small cakes. She was the youngest small business owner in the world, selling just five cakes a day. She worked so hard, yet she was deprived of a childhood like other children. She sold cakes, but she never sold her homeland — not at any price. I recorded this video during the harshest days of famine under the siege of northern Gaza. Yesterday, when I went to provide care for a wounded person near her family’s tent, I asked about her, eager to see her again. The moment her name was mentioned, her family began to cry in deep grief. They told me that only days earlier, she was killed when an explosive device hidden inside a toy detonated. She thought it was a toy and picked it up because she could not afford to buy one — her family was poor. She carried what she believed was a toy, but it exploded in her hands, and her small body was torn into five burned pieces. Instead of the five cakes she used to sell every day, her body was turned into five shattered fragments — the result of deadly remnants left behind, turning Gaza’s children into victims day after day. The martyred child Salma is only one story among thousands of stories of systematic killing and ethnic cleansing. Please share the story of the martyred child Salma with the world.
