A Dark Morning in UI: We Lost One of Our Own 💔 •In the early hours of this morning, the University of Ibadan community was hit with the heartbreaking news of the passing of a student •The student, Ifeluwà Wisdom Akinmade, a 300 Level MBBS student (Class of 200 going to 300), was reportedly suspected to have taken a harmful substance around Saturday midnight •Following the incident, he was rushed first to Jaja Clinic and later transferred to UCH for urgent medical attention •He remained in a coma for several hours despite efforts to stabilize him •Sadly, he later passed on •The news was formally communicated by the Hall Warden of Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall •Students and members of the University community have been urged to seek help when overwhelmed and to share their struggles with trusted friends, seniors, or support systems •This loss has deeply shaken not just his hall, but the entire University of Ibadan community •It is a painful reminder of the silent battles many young people face This is truly a sad moment for UI students and Ibadan at large. May comfort find his family, friends, and everyone affected by this loss. 🕊️
