Great to see @ZemanLab in such excellent company among the top Hot New Releases for Science books. Out from @BloomsburyBooks on 16 January, The Shape of Things Unseen is full of the latest discoveries and insights into the imagination...

@Brewenjon For precision - if required - best to specify ‘global’ or the sense modality in question; re usages...well, language goes its own way :)

@ZemanLab So 'hyperphantasia' could be assumed to refer to all senses (unless said in context of one single sense), and otherwise we should specify 'visual hyperp.', 'audial hyperp.', etc? What about other terms; "I am a hyperphant, I am hyperphantic and have hyperphantasia". Good usage?

@ZemanLab Can you settle a discussion for me? Does 'hyper/aphantasia' just refer to mental imagery, or also to the other senses? I'm trying to nail down clear terminology on the subject, as I think it's key to sharing our internal experiences.

'London will have 7,500 critical care beds by the end of next week – 27 times more than the 275 it had before the epidemic began in January.' From the @guardian today. If correct, absolutely staggering, and an amazing achievement

'When there are so many we will have to mourn' wrote W.H. Auden in 1939 - let's all do our best to keep the numbers down. Listen to this young doctor at 07.18 on Today - bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/li… – stay home, and remember the great beauty of things!

Dear Friends, a young medical colleague in London sent me this a few minutes ago - 'Adam I am back at work, it is so much worse than I had imagined, we are palliating people in their 50s. Please, please do everything you can to make sure that people understand....
