Valve has reportedly made a major internal price hike for its upcoming Steam Machine. New leaks from hardware expert Brad Lynch indicate that the Steam Machine has received the largest cost increase among Valve’s new hardware due to global shortages and price spikes in RAM and memory components for PCs. Thanks to AI, the Steam Machine could now end up more expensive than the standalone Steam Frame VR headset when they launch. That’s exactly the opposite of what Valve wanted to do in its initial plans. Valve has already acknowledged delays and pricing reviews for these devices, but exact prices haven’t been revealed yet. @PCMR_Elitist 8bit has made great ones. I got their fight pads, and some other more niche controllers, and the duo etc. All are great. But the trackpads from the steam deck are something I wanted on pc for ages now. Best and most underrated innovation in gaming right now.

@Thatisdiffi I probably shouldn’t. I have been buying way too much other stuff and I don’t like spending a premium when I don’t have a reasonable safety net in the bank. Like I might, but it depends on if I will travel for work anytime soon. Because that’s what I want it for.

Can confirm. I'm already a PC gamer, and I want the Steam Machine for PC couch gaming. I don't intend on immediately buying it on launch though.

@el_anticristo25 @Pirat_Nation Implementing cost recuperation measures like the others are. The consumer wins by default for such measures not existing. Them selling for profit makes this an easy win for both sides. Steam deck was massive in value, and it was a huge win.

Even if you are fairly poor, from a poor country, you absolutely can afford 60 fps+ It’s choosing to play games that are too demanding that is the problem.
