The nudge towards Digital ID: They will sell it to everyone as “for your own good” or “for your safety” or “for your convenience”. But actually it’s a scam for them to seize more control, data harvest and transfer huge amounts of wealth.

@labourlewis I expect this needs to be countered sooner rather than later with cross-party, transnational and transregional support. Otherwise we are the slope to authoritarianism and I'm pretty sure Blair & Starmer will be only too glad about it.

@labourlewis I despise Palantir and all its shady surveillance behaviour. I hope @UKLabour do not continue to engage with this awful company. In particular, I don’t want them having access to my sensitive NHS records @wesstreeting. I value my privacy, Palantir does not.

In China, your facial recognition is your digital ID
Facial recognition required for applying phone number, bank accounts, digital wallet...everything.
Once you are blacklisted by Social Credit System or flagged as enemy of the State, you can't buy anything with digital wallet

It's happening in China now. Once you are blacklisted by social credit system, you can no longer use China's CBDC digital wallet-Alipay or Wechat pay. Which means you can't order food, book hotel room, buy train/plane tickets...etc online.
