Good morning homies... There is a truth that many have never considered. A truth we all know exists but seldom realize the causality behind it. When you do, you will be forced to look at yourself in the mirror and be faced with an incredibly important choice. A decision to be honest with yourself and be held to account. Or lie to yourself, make excuses and continue in that lie that will ultimately compound into more bad decisions, laziness and failure. This simple truth is so profound in every human life yet so incredibly simple that it gets overlooked by even those who have achieved great success in the past. How many times have we seen or heard a story where someone who built and achieved, by all outward appearances, a successful life only to lose it all and end up broke and destitute? Most have heard the saying "don't rest on your laurels." If you've never looked into how that saying came to be you should. It is a great exercise in self reflection. But it speaks to this truth that many learn the hard way. In fact, it is so foundational to all forms of success that once properly understood and implemented it will fundamentally change the direction of your life. And it is this. When discipline breaks down so does wisdom. How many people equate discipline to wisdom? Not many. Otherwise, there would be many more wise successful people in the world. I'll give you one example most of us can relate to. Because we've either done it, continue to do it or watch people around us do on a regular basis. What do most people do when they get extra money? An inheritance. A bonus. An increase in pay. Typically, they immediately "raise" their standard of living or simply spend it all because somehow they feel they deserve it. It could be they've never had extra money and they want to experience what it feels like or to look successful to people that really don't care. Whatever the reasoning is the result is disastrous. Even those who live paycheck to paycheck fall into this negative feedback loop and don't understand why they never get ahead. There are two types of wisdom. Earthly wisdom that is learned through experience. And the wisdom created by God (literally) and given to those who seek it and ask for it. Either way we need wisdom. For it is wisdom, when applied, that exponentially accelerates our lives forward. It keeps us from making direly poor decisions and continuing in making good ones. Yet without the discipline to continue in it or to never exercise it at all, your life can unravel very quickly. When you couple discipline to wisdom it creates more wisdom. It creates a positive feedback loop that ultimately leads to success in every area of your life. It affects everything from your relationships to your bank account. Discipline is the underpinning of success. Wisdom is the means by which how you decide to choose what to do with that success. They work in synergy with one another. And when done in conjunction with God's wisdom, your life will begin to flow. Doors of opportunity begin to open. Wealth begins to grow. Charity becomes more important. Humility and generosity start to become part of your identity. All these things begin to compound upon one another. This is why I speak of the importance of exercising discipline in all aspects of your life. Barring the Lord Himself, there is nothing more important to the success of your life. And if you get right down to it, it is discipline that will keep you growing in the Lord. Because when you discipline yourself to seeking the Lord everyday, through His Word and prayer, you will find Him. And He will grow your faith in Him and the belief in yourself, that you can achieve anything, beyond your comprehension. If you have been given the free gift of faith, couple it to discipline and create the life you want to live. Then live it. But live it for the Lord. Because He is the One who gave it to you. Live well my friends. 👊🦏
