I buy and sell every day. I analyze entries, exits, risk, reward, value and price. Trading is one giant transaction. Yet one thing still puzzles me: Why do so many people carry that same mindset into every part of life? Love becomes a transaction. Friendships become a transaction. Family becomes a transaction. Everyone is calculating benefits, measuring returns, and keeping score. But some of the most valuable things in life were never meant to be profitable. Not every conversation needs an agenda. Not every act of kindness needs repayment. Not every relationship should be judged by what you can gain from it. As traders, we understand transactions better than most. Maybe that’s why we should also understand where transactions should end. Because the richest parts of life are often found in the places where nobody is keeping accounts.
