@obssesedcnascar Have you ever tried to shine a turd? You can actually make it really shiny. The mythbusters did this. But at the end of the day, all you’d be left with is a really shiny turd.

Let me know when the racing looks, sounds, and feels like this again. I grew up watching this while today’s generation is stuck with 50% throttle fuel saving races due to incompetent leaders ruining what was once the greatest sport on earth.

I’m not saying the split will be soon, but you can already see the fractures and have been able to see it for quite a few years now. I mean a team owner literally sued the sport in the offseason lol. There’s tension between the teams and leadership AND between the leadership and the tv networks that try to override decisions.

Honestly a split is looking more and more likely. I think it needs to happen. Completely different situation than the CART/IRL split because Indycar was on top of the world when they split. NASCAR has been in a steep and drastic decline for multiple decades at this point. Completely changing the sport entirely to electric would be the last and final straw for those that were giving them every benefit of the doubt at every wrong turn. I feel like even the biggest NASCAR shills would give up at that point unless they really needed that paycheck.

There are people working for #NASCAR that need to be fired yesterday & John Probst is one of them.
Adam Stern@A_S12

John Probst says CUV could give @NASCAROReillyAP clearer identity: "If you look at the brand identity of those three, the O'Reilly Series struggles a little bit just from the car perspective and you see it a lot because we refer to it often as whoever the entitlement sponsor is."

Literally just restoring its name as the Grand National Series completely fixes this issue btw

@ChrisW030212 @DaleJr Agreed, though as a young Harvick fan at the time I thought the whole thing was hilarious lol, I was still mad Harvick finished 2nd to Jr the year before when Jr had that damaged nose and still won

The brand identity for the series is the fucking RACING you absolute fucking numb skull. Being the last true stock car series that actually uses the correct car is it’s fucking identity. If the car changes, it no longer has a point or identity. These dumb motherfuckers just want to ruin the series for the sake of adding unnecessary idiotic electic components and hybrids. The core NASCAR fanbase hates all electric cars and hybrids. This is common sense to those that actually have it. Again, stock cars, NASCAR racecars, whatever you want to call them, are a specific type of racecar. It has a v8, with leaf springs/truck arms and a slick body with minimal downforce & way too much power. That is how every generation of car was until the nextgen car when they started trying to change things for the sake of change. I already don’t watch, if they try to next-genify the O’Reilly car or Truck, or replace them with whatever the fuck an electric “CUV” is, then literally nobody would watch anymore. How to kill a sport 101: Change all things that made it great until it’s no longer recognizable to anyone. It would be like football changing the shape of the ball or having 15 players on the field instead of 11, or just going to flag football all together. You don’t see the NBA adding a 10 point shot or a half court “make it and you win the game” shot. You don’t see massive changes like that in other sports, do you know why? Because they know they would alienate 70% of their audience overnight. NASCAR doesn’t have an identity anymore. Because the fucking CARS were the identity. The people, specifically the type of people, that were in NASCAR were what made it great. Now it’s for rich people and their kids. They do not give a fuck about the average blue collar fan. The type of fan they want are influencers and streamers who have money to blow. The soul of the sport is dead.

NASCAR saw Oreilly creeping up on cup in viewership simply because the racing is better, and to fix that problem, instead of doing the obvious thing and trying to make the cup racing better with a new car, the solution they came up with was to ruin the Oreilly series.
Harris Lue@HarrisLue

Sure… Let’s totally change the series that’s the purest display of stock-car racing and has zero complaints from the fans… not to mention the cost of new bodies and probably chassis for a ton of underfunded teams that make up the series as a whole…

How do you watch your ratings continue to dwindle and the absolute garbage we see on Sunday’s and conclude, we need a hydrogen engine?
