Effective teachers don't focus so much on rules, but more on relationships, routines, & expectations. If you focus mainly on rules, you will spend most of the year enforcing them. But if you focus on relationships, routines, & expectations, you rarely have to defer back to rules.

If a meeting can be an email, it's not a meeting.

Our students’ mental health is way more important than any test score.

Sometimes kids come to school to learn. Sometimes kids come to school to be loved. Many times kids come to school for both.

Maslow Before Bloom applies to the adults too! We have feelings, we get tired, we get stressed & sometimes beaten down. We have to take care of the adults so they can take care of the students. We have to make self-care & wellness a priority every day! #maslowbeforebloom

Leadership: There is absolutely nothing wrong with saying "I don't know" especially if you follow it with "But can we find out together?"

Dear Students, Your intelligence cannot be measured by a number. Your intelligence is defined by your willingness to learn, problem solve and try new things. You are more than a number. You are a brilliant person with unique ideas. Share them! Sincerely, Your Teachers ❤️
