The problem with Indian political Twitter is that people aren’t really interested in the truth, they just want content that fits their own narrative. If someone supports BJP, they’re quickly labeled RW and their tweets get amplified by that side. If someone supports Congress, they’re tagged LW and boosted similarly. But the moment the same person posts something that doesn’t align with that label, they’re instantly recast as the opposite. There’s very little effort to actually understand what’s being said. People can have independent opinions regardless of party lines. They can praise or criticize any side. I have followers across the spectrum, but the second you say something that goes against their preferences, the labeling starts. The whole experience has become pretty frustrating and, in a way, a lesson in how people engage on this platform.
