At 9:05 AM CT, as DHS law enforcement officers were conducting a targeted operation in Minneapolis against an illegal alien wanted for violent assault, an individual approached US Border Patrol officers with a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun, seen here. The officers attempted to disarm the suspect but the armed suspect violently resisted. More details on the armed struggle are forthcoming. Fearing for his life and the lives and safety of fellow officers, an agent fired defensive shots. Medics on scene immediately delivered medical aid to the subject but was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect also had 2 magazines and no ID—this looks like a situation where an individual wanted to do maximum damage and massacre law enforcement. About 200 rioters arrived at the scene and began to obstruct and assault law enforcement on the scene, crowd control measures were deployed for the safety of the public and law enforcement. This situation is evolving, and more information is forthcoming.

@dccommonsense There will be an investigation. Based on the video I've seen, and based on the officers reactions, it looks like the guy discharged his weapon causing a response by the officers. If the guy pulled a gun, the agents were 100% justified.

Another dark and tragic day in Minneapolis.
As with any officer-involved shooting, a full investigation will be conducted.
But we already know one thing for certain: Our state’s so-called leaders have totally failed us.
Minnesota desperately needs law and order. We need peace on our streets. But Tim Walz and Jacob Frey only heighten tensions further. They block our local law enforcement from working alongside federal agents to keep the peace. And they rush to blame the officers before even the basic facts are known.
It is incredibly irresponsible. It is exactly the poisonous mindset that keeps fueling this chaos.
This is the same “leadership” that let rioters burn our city in 2020. We can never let that happen again.
I encourage all Minnesotans to stay calm, stay away from the affected areas, and wait for the facts.

I have to stop watching all this for a little bit. I'm so sad this terror is happening all around us here in MN. I just prayed to God's will for it to somehow stop and now and started crying. I truly am sorry for all hurting like me through this, and I just want us to be a Love Covenant again. Truly. Let's all pray this stops somehow because it's awful.
