DA’s Breakout Artist of 2025: @_cassian 👑 — For more than a decade, Cassian has been the quiet force behind some of dance music’s most revered tracks. In 2025, it felt like he was finally given his flowers, not just for his behind-the-scenes mastery, but for his own artistry stepping into the spotlight. Just days before kicking off our 2025 with him at Proper NYD, Cassian had already begun adding to his legacy, becoming one of the first dance music artists to perform at Sphere, first alongside Kevin de Vries and again in March for a solo set. He also served as Music Director for all 12 of Anyma’s shows, tasked with creating the same “world-class audio experience” he’d perfected in the studio. Cassian’s 2025 debut, “Where I’m From” with SCRIPT and BELLADONNA, set the tone in parallel, followed by four more standout releases: “SOS,” a Calvin Harris remix, his and Yotto’s inescapable “Love Parade” rework, and DA’s new Cassian GOAT, “A Feeling I Miss” with Matt Ryder. He’s exiting 2025 with IDs still in the chamber, including his intro ID, a Tame Impala remix, and the CdV “Payback” rework. His Midas touch extended beyond his own releases, with posts from cassianstudio (his production IG account) regularly surfacing on the timeline, including a Grammy nomination for his contributions to RÜFÜS DU SOL’s ‘Inhale / Exhale.’ The clearest sign of his 2025 breakout came on stage, where we saw him five times since January 1. Cassian embarked on his biggest U.S. headline run yet, with venues ballooning as the calendar rolled on. Festival timeslots and crowd sizes followed suit, including the Tomorrowland mainstage, Experts Only Festival with Kaskade, plus solo sets at Seismic, EDC Orlando, and more. And it all carries into 2026, with more milestones already locked in like a Brooklyn Storehouse headline in February and a long-awaited Ultra debut in March.
