Miss the old days with burst band houses and people helping put together their own costumes even kids😂 Cause it really wasn't only about the costumes, but unity, identity reclamation and the significance of what it means to be a Bajan. Lets get back there we've lost our identity

Last year it was the Bajan artistes ain't good enough to grace a man 40 foot stage, now this year it is the women ain't got the "appeal" to model a man costumes. It gonna be Barbados Carnival just now😂😂

While we’re here, let’s acknowledge which bands are VERY able to find models of a skin tone that suits their demographic, but when we the people request real representation there’s a lot of waffle about “cost” and “logistics” and “we used two dark skinned girls!”

What beats me the most about the light skinned women for band launch craze is that these colorful costumes look SO incredible on dark skinned women 🥲 Their skin literally makes the colours pop MORE.
