Unpopular opinion: Live coding interviews need to go. And if we must keep them, let developers use AI. Because that’s exactly what we do in the real world anyway. Testing someone’s ability to write code from memory under pressure doesn’t tell you if they’re a good engineer. It tells you if they’re good at being nervous.
