"Contrary to what some might think," judges don't let their personal views play a role in court rulings, Mah said. "Personal and political sentiment do not matter. That is the job."

Mah also said he wasn't declaring Premier Smith's gov "governed effectively" in how it ended the strike. He also shot back a bit on recent criticism from Smith on Alberta's judges and how she doesn't want to see activist courts get in the way of government.
