#DCSDay1 First time in a long time it’s just us! Jerome HS and IRE💚☘️💚

Our final science focus this year was on energy and we narrowed in on wind energy by creating our own wind turbines. LOTS of trial and error and use of the design process. We are having some success! 💨

We really enjoyed having Matei’s mom for one last virtual visit. She shared all about MEMS and had a connection to the design process we are learning about in science!

We’ve had a lot of fun together the past few days! What a fun group of students who have become friends💚 Yearbooks, lunch together, popsicles, and a movie!

Our final guest reader of the year was Addison’s grandma. This is a favorite event of our classes and our guests have chosen some amazing books this year. 💚📚💚

After doing the scripted calendar for math Number Corner all year, we were ready to make our own! We shared our first seven cards with classmates to see if they could figure out the rest.

Today we got to celebrate our final two Students of the Month💚💚 We could not be more proud of Laasya and Phoenix and will miss them so much as they head to 5th grade!

4th graders were treated to a visit by Mr. Estep. He is a birder, and expert, who has traveled the world studying and photographing birds. Thank you for your time, Mr. Jim! 🦅🦆🦜🦢

4th graders were treated to a visit from Mr. Carl aka “The bee guy”. He shared about bee characteristics, habits, hives and some myths we have about bees. 🐝

Very proud of both Janet and Kan for being our Students of the Month! So thankful to be their teachers💚

We love when parents come back to read to us again! Thanks to Nora’s mom for making the time to visit 💚

Our crew took time this afternoon to clean up the playground for Earth Day 💚🌎💚

A repeat guest reader and he chose a topic we just finished! Matei’s dad came to read some mythology to us.

We had a cool virtual field trip to the Rumpke Recycling Center! We learned all about the process of where are recyclables go from our curb to being repurposed.

Buddy time is the BEST time, especially when it includes books and reading together!
