I made the silliest Claude Code hook: it uses a second Claude to auto-approve read-only commands. Commands that modify things still bubble up. In practice it kills most permission prompts! Have fun with it 🫡 github.com/Tomato-Cake-LL…

How often are you guys dangerously skipping permissions?

Something to think about: For years Minecraft lacked the most foundational of gamedev optimizations: occlusion culling, basically don't render blocks covered by others This meant stuff like underground caves you literally couldn't see were being rendered. So players had to limit their render distance and if you played on a really shitty computer you had to cap your render distance to only a few chunks and barely see anything Not rendering blocks you can't see is like the first thing you think of when you're thinking about optimizing Minecraft Despite missing this very basic optimization, Minecraft still became the best-selling game of all time

If your prototype isn’t fun without art, it won’t be fun with art. Art can enhance fun. It can’t create it Prototype with cubes, test the loop, iterate fast Polish is a multiplier: only when the base is good

Book challenge I appreciate that there are many people who roll their eyes at my optimistic-libertarian-technological-triumphalist take on things, yet still interact civilly. I have had several meaningful conversations here, but the bandwidth is limited. If you are one of those people, suggest a book for me to read that you think will challenge my worldview. I will read it with an open mind and make some posts reacting to it. In return you will do the same for @johanknorberg ‘s The Capitalist Manifesto. Volunteer yourself and a book here. I will pick a few and run a poll tomorrow.
