The Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum is suspending public operations beginning Friday, March 13, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. to support public health guidance encouraging social distancing. We anticipate reopening April 6, 2020, and will provide updates through our social media and website.

Roll up your sleeves and join Little Scientists Club Tuesday, March 3rd for Goo Fest! We’ll be exploring an ooey gooey activity from 9:30-10:30 AM in the Green Room on the Lower Level. As always, Little Scientists Club is free for members and included with general admission.

Our final featured scientist for #BlackHistoryMonth is Katherine Johnson! Johnson worked as a mathematician and computer for NACA (and later, #NASA). She is famous for her work on the Apollo missions. We were saddened to hear of her passing this week at 101 years old.

Who is Margaret Hamilton? Did she reach the moon with math? Join us and @WildSwanTheater and learn about the Apollo missions. This weekend explore hands-on activities with us, then head to the Wild Swan Theater in March for the world premiere of their show Coding To The Moon.

This month, we celebrate #BlackHistoryMonth by highlighting the contributions of black scientists. Dr. Marie Daly was a trailblazing chemist who studied how the body digests food, and helped us understand the dangerous effect of cholesterol on arteries.

Join Little Scientists Club this Tuesday, February 25th for a Hands-On Hodgepodge day! Our educators are picking their favorite Little Scientists Club activities to share with you, so come explore with us in the Green Room from 9:30-10:30 am. Included with admission.

Did you know that there are over 3,000 species of termites? Dr. Margaret Strickland did! She discovered a new species of termite, had a Ph. D. in Zoology, and was known as the "Termite Lady". #blackhistorymonth
