I went to an ANZAC Day Dawn Service in Sunnybank, the most multicultural suburb in Queensland
I observed that the attendance was maybe 80-90% Anglo-Celtic Australian, skewing much older, and very Christian
Nationhood and federation were a very persistent theme, as were Christian prayers
I found it a beautiful and moving service. There were Vietnam War veteran heroes still with us and the kookaburras laughed at the end of the service which made everybody else laugh
