When NHS staff were striking for fair pay and a safer NHS, Clarkson said “frankly I would have them all shot”. (Crazy how little a person can think of the people who saves everyday.) So anyway he’s fine with nurses having to use food banks. BUT how dare you expect people with land worth £Ms having to pay an extra tax. Don’t forget the right claim they’re on the side of working people. Do our NHS staff not count? I don’t get you.

@MrJamesMay Asset rich, cash poor. It’s only worth its value if sold. You need a lot of arable land to make not very much money as a farmer. Usual socialist politics of envy. Someone has something they don’t, so they do whatever they can to make sure they don’t have it anymore!

I’m trying to follow the great farming debate but, as an economics illiterate, I’m baffled. If a farm has a nominal value of, say, £3m but generates an income of only c. £40k, how can it really be worth that much? This is not, bt dubs, a loaded question. I’m interested.

Labour is hiking taxes on billionaires. Don’t be distracted by the farmers protesting in Westminster. Inheritance tax on farmland means the super rich will pay their fair share. Here’s who’s most affected:
